The MicroGuard and
MacHasp USB keys were created - at a hardware and
software level - for MAC. They don't support PC software,
nor Carbon and Mac OS X.
If you need to use Mac OS X or wants to move your
data to the PC, you need to buy the new HASP4 USB.

bought HASP4 USB should I buy a new code developer ?

Yes. MacHASP and
HASP4 USB coding systems are different. With your first order you
will receive a new code developer. Then you will integrate
in your software..

HASP4 USB
supports Carbon
software under Mac OS 8.6, 9.x and Mac OS X. We provide
CFM libraries. HASP4 USB supports also the OS X (Cocoa)
functions and for these software we provide the Mac
libraries.

Which are the
main differences between the APIs for HASP4 and the present
APIs for MacHASP that I'm using?

The greater difference
is the higher security. The MacHASP key use the "seed code - return code" technology to detect the presence of a
key. HASP4 keys use their ciphering chip engine to
verify the key encoding and decoding all the communications to
and from the key . The memory of the key need different access
modality models and this is assured by the new APIs.

software, do I have to make any change?

If you are using
HASP4 to protect your PC software, you can keep on doing
it without any change. Today you have the possibility to
distribute your software even on Mac and Linux
without changing the hardware key.

What models of
USB multy-system keys are available?+

Now 5 HASP4 USB models
are available: one memory-less (HASP4 USB STD) 2 with read/write
protected memory with 112 bytes (HASP4 USB M1) and
496 bytes (HASP4 USB M4) and a USB key supplied with
Real Time Clock (HASP4 USB TIME) useful to protect the demo
versions, try-before-you-buy and expiring versions. It's also
available a multiplatform HASP4 USB key that permits
to protect the software on PCs shared on a
network (HASP4 USB NET).

Which utility are available for HASP4 USB multi-system?

A.
Several utilities are
now available: API, HASP Envelope for an automated and quick
protection, HASPEDIT to program the key memory, tools to
remotely up date the memory of the keys, diagnostic software
etc. For Mac the Utility Envelope is not yet available;
it will be in few time.
